  • Fry consumption at home is relatively high, but is not as popular as consumption away from home.

The movement in the russet potato market continues to be steady. Retail movement is outpacing foodservice business for February. Supplies remain abundant in all shipping areas, perhaps an overabundance in Idaho. Pricing remains stable and unchanged.

Yellow potato supplies are dwindling in Colorado, while supplies remain ample in Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canada. Pricing is inching upward as supplies decrease in the shipping areas. New crop yellow potatoes have become available from growers in southern Florida at a substantially higher price than the available storage crop.

Storage crop white potato supplies remain in the Northeast, with most of the product remaining near the shipping region. Pricing is unchanged. New crop white potatoes are starting to become available in southern Florida, with that crop remaining in the southeast.

Fingerling potatoes are available in Colorado, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Pricing remains steady on the yellow fingerlings, while pricing on red and purple fingerlings is climbing due to
