Potato Market Update

Potato UpdateAll growing regions are busy harvesting russet potatoes. Prices have stabilized throughout all shipping areas. Movement is on the slower side. All eyes are on Idaho growers to see the size of the crop that is being harvested.

Warm temperatures and rain have slowed red potato harvest in the Red River Valley. Despite this, the quality we have seen looks great!

All areas are busy harvesting and shipping yellow potatoes. Quality and yields appear to be above average. RPE has ample supplies. Contact your RPE sales representative for promotional opportunities.

White potato supplies are available from growers in the Northeast; this is where most of the supplies remain. Pricing remains average.

Fingerling potatoes are available in all shipping areas; pricing is stable in all areas.

Onion Market Update

Onion demand remains steady as we head into October. All sizes and colors have been moving well; however, smaller-sized onions are currently the tightest in the marketplace on both reds and yellows.

Harvest is in full swing in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The rain has delayed some harvest, but the weather for the next couple of weeks looks to be improving.
