The russet potato market is seeing good demand throughout the country. It appears that Idaho’s lower shipments are affecting the rest of the country’s increased demand. The open market price continues to inch up on nearly all russet potato sizes. Movement will increase tremendously in the coming weeks to accommodate the holiday demands.

Demand will exceed supply in the red potato market. Growers in the Red River Valley have battled the weather this season, leaving some acreage unharvested. Supply in North Dakota and Wisconsin are down as opposed to the typical red potato availability. Growers in Idaho have ample supply with great quality and Colorado growers started shipping more supplies last week. Florida will bring more new crop red potatoes to market when it becomes available in a few months.

Movement in the yellow potato market is stable. Most growing regions have adequate supply with steady pricing.

Minimal change in the white potato market. Demand and pricing remain steady.

All growing areas are happy with their remaining fingerling potato supply. Pricing remains steady making this an excellent variety to promote.
